This is a digitally enhanced home gym which gives you the ability to change resistance with a touch of a button. Unusual for home gyms, maybe, but probably something we'll easily get accustomed with.
We can compare this model to a Weider MAX Resistance System Gym, for they are very similar in types of exercises they offer and the overall design. The main difference between them is that Platinum 600 uses the digital change of resistance while MAX stays with the old manual type. Another difference is that you cannot upgrade weights on Platinum 600 so you are staying with 240lbs of maximum resistance. This can be a problem for experienced and advanced users, especially for some types of exercises, but for most people 240lbs is more than enough.
Weider made a success with Platinum 600 because of the "digital" part of the machine, but there were many problems with console readouts so the price came down almost instantly. Now it's very affordable and you can consider getting it if you don't like to interrupt your exercising routine to change the resistance.
